However, some students agree with Greenwood’s dress code policy because if people are able to wear what they want then they could offend someone.
Rachel Waild said, “I think it is good, not to harsh but not the best.” Rachel also stated that she agrees with some of the dress code rules. “Not being able to wear short shorts is a good rule because some people shouldn’t be showing their stuff”
Everyone from freshmen to senior gets dress code every day. According to students at Greenwood the best thing to do is go ahead and take the violation instead of arguing because arguing with teachers leads to more consequences.
Rachel Waild also said what she thought the consequence should be for a dress code violation. “Either parents need to bring you something to wear or get something from the lost and found”.
Most students at Greenwood seem to disagree with the shorts rule. According to the Greenwood High School Handbook shorts, skirts or dresses should extend to the fingertips when arms are to the side.
Cassie Meador stated “If I could change anything about our schools dress code policy it would be the shorts rule because some students have longer arms or shorter arms then others allowing them to get away with wearing shorter shorts”.
Greenwood High Schools handbook also says that you must where shirts with sleeves and they should not be too low to where students are showing too much. Students come to school thinking their shirts are fine but they don’t see what the teachers see. When students bend over to pick up their books in class shirt falls down to where they see too much you will be sent to the office to change.
“Sometimes girls need to be sent to the office for their shorts but also teachers can be a little too strict about it” Cassie added
Guys at Greenwood are usually getting in trouble for sagging. Nobody wants to see students walking around pulling up their pants all the time or pants falling to their knees.
Dalton Knoise said, “You don’t really see as many guys getting dress code as you do girls, but most of the time when guys do get dress code it’s for their pants sagging to their knees, If your pants are too big wear a belt because no one wants to see it”.
Although there are a lot of opinions on Greenwoods dress code policy, it is important that there is one. Students may feel that the school shouldn’t have one or it is too strict, but if Greenwood didn’t have a dress code then it could lead to the school becoming an unhealthy environment.
“It is important that we have a dress code because we don’t want people coming to school wearing inappropriate clothing” Cassie said.
If students at Greenwood disagree with the dress code, it is still important that the dress code is followed. Students will stay out of trouble and have a much smoother school year if they do.
Paraphase: This artictle states that not only do parents and society ant to inforce the dress code policy but many students also want to inforce the dress code. Also Many students wouldn't like the dress code to be inforced more. They would like the dress code policy to be less stricker. Saying that shorts should be able to be short. Boys should be able to sag their pants. It also states that the conseqences should be more stricter. When you violate the dress code policy students believe that it's better just to take the conseqences without an argument.
